Mitt Romney's Scary Sermon: Taking America back to it's Conservative Past

As an admirer of the American Democracy, I was quite flabbergasted when I listened to Republican candidate, Mitt  Romney's speech, rallying the Republicans. Mr. Romney's antipathy of the current course of of the US' economic was inconspicuously crafted in his well staged ramble of returning America's to it's conservative past, outlining his illusion of the American dream. According to Mr. Romney, they(Republicans) were firing the president off the job, because he had done little or nothing to take the country out of the load of economic problems, inherited from the very Republican led government in 2008. Mr. Romney well planned show even got a grace of appearance from the legendary Dirty Harry, actor Clint Eastwood, who took to the stage before the Republican candidate, lambasting the President in a fictitious conversation to keep the Air Force One.

What I couldn't understand was why would Clint choose to cap his Oscar performances over the years with a racist play directed by Mitt Romney. And as Mr. Romney talked about his kind of American dream, and returning America to its conservative past, I couldn't stop my mind from wandering into that conservative past along with the Republican man. And what I saw disturbed me greatly. I saw a past deep with the wounds of racism inflicted by the Ku-Klux-KLan which was a religion and law unto themselves. I saw a past filled with the deceit and hypocrisy bred by the CIA which proudly orchestrated series of clandestine operations that ended up in fiasco that led to the death of several thousand people around the wold, including Americans themselves.I saw a past when America's allies like Israel, wary of its continuous paranoia and trauma from the Holocaust, heartlessly violate human rights with impunity.

Whatever Mr. Romney means, with his  suburb class act in Florida, one does not need a special gift of discernment to get his actual message, which sequentially connected every act: " It's time to take our county back from these modern immigrants, and continue from where we stopped!" Of course, MR. Romney represents the conservative Republicans that labeled itself 'The Tea Party Movement', a brand of fiery white majority that believed that America committed a grave offense against it self when it elected Mr. Obama, a back man, to the presidency. A white friend of mine from America, visiting Liberia, told me on the day that Barrack Obama was sworn into office that she strongly believed that he was the wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. As a student of history, I strongly opposed her view, because I saw the decision coming a long time.

Let me take your minds back to the 60's, the period of the civil rights Movement. A young, smart Black American named Dr. Martin Luther King made a startling revelation that would change the course of the American society forever. He discovered a powerful truth hidden in a simple sentence inscribed by the Founding Fathers of America in the American Constitution: " We hold these truth to be self evidence that all men are created equal." And using it as his only justification for the right to exist as a man, he went on to win his non violent war against racism and inspire millions of people, not only in America, but from around the world.

So today, people like Mr. Obama can decide to run for the presidency in a nation that calls for equal opportunity for all people regardless of you religious creed, sex, or ethnic background, as long as you subscribe to the American democracy. And this was suppose to be the American Dream.

And Mr. Obama is not a wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time; he is part of the very American Dream that Mr. Romney keeps alluding to.But Mr. Romney and his associates thinks it's a curse, so they are set to launch the most ruthless campaign against the Democrat, accusing the black president of not doing anything to solve the American's job problem and fixing a Republican damaged economic.
